[Ottawa] Networking Event – Career Transitions and Advancement Feb 26
When: Thursday, February 26, 2015 – 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Where: bitHeads – Westgate Shopping Centre, 1309 Carling Ave (Enter from outside the mall on the east side – door near Pet Store)
Cost: $12 (Early-bird discount) until February 20. Goes up to $18 February 21
Considering a change? It could be a promotion, a lateral transfer, a new company or a new baby. WPT is holding a group panel and mentorship event on Feb 26 7-9pm supporting women in the technology field making or thinking about career transitions. Topics to be discussed will include:
* When is a good time for a career change?
* Changing roles
- From technical to management or marketing and back
- Industry change
- From corporate to start-up
* Considerations when returning from maternity leave
* What changes can contribute to career advancement?
Our panel will feature three women who work in the technology field sharing their experiences and insight with successful career transitions and career advancement. After the panel discussion, questions from the audience will be welcomed.
Smaller group discussions with panel members and networking will follow.
